JOYEUX NOEL & BONNE ANNEE

Et voilà! This newsletter is late! But you know style has its reasons, and we were waiting for one missing piece for the jewelry of the month to be perfect: when you will discover it, you will understand why I could not settle for less! And by the way: yes, the jewelry you see here is made every month for this online boutique only and there is only one of each piece. Unique, literally.

Now let's get deeper. As it is a traditional time for good resolutions, let's consider all the promises we made to ourselves since we are kids. Take one hour, sit down with a paper and dig in your bag of 31 st of December memories. Write down the list. Cross out what you already accomplished. Now what? Is it too late to get a diploma? To go to a yoga class? To have fun? To love? Not enough time or money? Really?

Think twice. It is your life you are drawing every day and you have only one at a time. Make a wish. Unique, literally!

Thank you again for all your support, Love & Blessings,
Catherine Grison

THE EVENT OF THE MONTH
Mon voyage à Paris

I am just back from enjoying my friends and family in France, mostly in my gorgeous city of Paris. Of course I did not sleep much, too busy to run everywhere and also smile, laugh and watch the sun setting (or rising!). Let me tell your first about some exhibitions.
I went to the Yves Klein’s showing focused on the elements in his work, and the Rauschenberg famous “Combines” presentation, both at Beaubourg. Definitely a must seen.
I also visited the new Museum of the Quay Branly, dedicated to the native cultures of Asia, Oceania and Americas. Beautiful front architecture with a green wall. Incredible gathering of spiritual objects which I would never have dared to even collect and then place together in a labyrinth/womb space. The energy is so loaded, it gets really strange.
Finally I discovered in two private galleries more work from Anselm Kiefer, whose current exhibition at the SFMOMA had me standing in awe (in a good way). For the gossip part, we have the same (fabulous) osteopath!
Last but not least you have to see the remodeled Museum des Arts Decoratifs, a pure paradise for any interior savvy amateur.
I will tell you more on my trip next month, be prepared, I met incredible people I may invite to the USA…

THE INSPIRATIONAL JEWEL OF THE MONTH
The Caresse Choker

Your French Accent's Insight :
The Caresse Choker is all black with oh so soft ostrich fuzzy fiber. Hand sewn on the fiber is a black ribbon with black chandelier beading. On the side is attached a real chrysanthemum flower dipped and preserved. The flower is a vibrant purple pink. It feels and hangs like a very tiny scarf at the base of the neck.

On a symbolic side, the black ribbons, besides being uber fashionable this winter (everything in Parisian boutiques is black), support also the flowing communication, black being the color of the water element. A powerful symbol for the emperors, the chrysanthemum represents also purity, longevity and immortality and adds the touch of color that gives life and youth to the composition.

The Caresse Choker:  All the vintage fun and the magic of the season in one hip yet simple necklace, like a kiss on the neck.

THE PAINTING OF THE MONTH
Evelyne Consorti : KOI FISH

In response to present-day confusion and uneasiness, Evelyne Consorti draws on the balance and harmony embodied in the ancient Chinese philosophy of Feng Shui. Juxtaposing the serenity of the meditating Buddha with the quiet strength of bamboo or the vivacity of Koi fish in the tranquility of pond waters, Evelyne's paintings suggest the enduring presence of the natural world and the reassuring wisdom of the higher spirit. Through numerous coats of transparencies and collages of ritual Chinese paper, delicate variations of hues at times blend with, and at times nearly submerge the subject in her abstract works as well as in her more figurative pieces. The effect is a graceful and refined combination of color, balance and symbol, evoking inner sources of strength. Evelyne Consorti is a French artist based in the San Francisco Peninsula.

Your French Accent's Insight:
KOI FISH is not only the typical symbolic enhancer for your career and your finances through the swimming fish symbol but also a very sophisticated addition to your art collection. At a still very reasonable price.
